Canvas Creations Workshop

I was lucky enough to attend a Hels Sheridan workshop at The Stamp Attic on Sunday. The theme was canvas creations and I learnt loads of great techniques.

Here is my creation

It was great to create such a fabulous canvas and the photograph doesn't do the layers and texture justice.  It really was a fabulous workshop and t was great to have fun and get messy using inks and paints with friends!

Thanks for looking.

Tim Holtz: 12 Tags of 2012 - July

Tim set the challenge of using the alcohol ink splatter technique for July.  Here is my version of Tim's tag
For this card I used a Paper Artsy Hot Picks stamp for the main image and  a Stampin' Up Greeting. The background paper, seam binding, brad and punch are all from Stampin' Up.

Hope you like my version of Tim's tag.  Thanks for looking.

Quick And Simple Birthday Card

Here is a simple card that I have made for a male relative:
I don't know about you ,but I have stacks of papers that I have pulled out of magazines and never used!  So, I set about starting to use them!

The card is covered with blue paper that I have had free.  The border is also punched from free papers (not really sure where I have got them from though!)

I brayered some inks onto glossy card stock then dried and flicked water over them.  I punched a decorative label from one part and then cut a rectangle from the other.

I stamped the main image using archival ink.  I'm not sure who the image is by as it does not say on the packaging but it's a really lovely image.  I also stamped a sentiment onto the punched label.

I finished by decorating with buttons.

Hope you like it - said it was easy!

Tim's 12 Tags of 2012: May

Yes, I know, we are now into July.  I never got around to completing the May tag - but better late than never!

Here is my version of Tim's tag:
I kept most things the same as Tim did.  Even though I have some wooden cotton reels I chose to use a chipboard one die cut from the Sewing Room Alterations die - this was purely to make the tag less chunky.

I also didn't dip the flowers into UTEE - this was purely to save me time of getting my melt pot out (I know, I know!!!).

Hope you like my tag.

Thanks for looking.

Rebel Stampers Tag Swap

Last month's tag swap theme was 'wrinkle free distress'.  Here is my creation:
I used the Tim Holtz wrinkle free distress method for the tag background and the monster.  The monster is the Key Keeper from Stampotique, which I adore.

The background stamp is from Tim Holtz and the quote is from one of the Dylusions ranges.

I finished the tag off by using walnut stain distress around the edge and adding a key and ribbon from my stash.  I am really pleased with the finished result - looks quite shabby and grubby, but in a good way!!

Thanks for looking.

Sunday Stamper Week 212 - Silver Dream Machine

The theme for this week's Sunday Stamper is 'Silver'.  At the moment  it takes forever for me to do anything - 3 weeks to make 5 cards - so I thought I would use this week's theme to create a birthday card for a friend.

I have been loving the 'block' theme that Hels has been showing lately, so I thought I would give it a go.

Firstly, I embossed some metal using 2 Tim Holtz folders.  I then dragged a black dabber across the metal and wiped over with a paper towel.

After this I cut the 2 metal sheets and a sheet of Destinations paper into random rectangles and squares.

I glued these randomly onto my card stock then edged it with walnut stain distress (my fave).

I die cut the Tim Holtz ticket strip and coloured it using weathered wood stain and edged with walnut stain ink.

The images are a fab set that I ordered from the States last year - my DH is a car fanatic and I had been looking out for 'reaistic' car stamps - I have used these so many times since and never bore of them.  They were coloured using grey Promarkers.  The sentiment was stamped in Archival from a stamp in my stash.

The tyre tracks were stamped in archival and then punched using a lace border punch.

I finished the card using Ideology from my stash.

I am really pleased with the finished result.  You can buy everything that I used from The Stamp Attic

Pop over to Hels' gaff to see her fabulous creation.
